Switches are an essential part of the electrical distribution system as they are present at all levels and allow to secure and isolate parts of the circuit. They are used to ensure both an emergency stop function and for isolation during cleaning, maintenance, and inspection. Enclosed switches provide protection to the device in terms of higher levels of ingress protection and protects the user against accidental starting of electrical machines.
IPD Offers a Range of Enclosed Switches
IPD offers enclosed switches with a voltage rating 415V and current ratings from 160A to 400A suitable for two utilization categories namely AC-22A and AC-23A. Cable entries are permissible through the bottom gland plate. The enclosure comes in two choices of material namely polyester with RAL7035 smooth finish and mild steel RAL7035 ripple finish. Utmost protection against is offered against harsh weathers and it is suitable for outdoor installation due to the IP66 rated enclosure along with an IP65 rated pad lockable handle in off position. IPD offers C&S’ IP65, aluminium enclosed switches with a voltage rating of up to 690V and current ratings from 25A to 100A with two pole configurations namely 3P+N and 4P.
Fuse Switch Disconnectors up to 1250A
A fuse switch disconnector is a switching device used for manual switching or isolation of loads and distribution boards. It can make, carry, and break the specified rated current including a defined overload. It protects downstream electrical loads, safely disconnecting all poles from the power supply under load. The fuse switch disconnector has combined properties of load switch and disconnector in addition to the protection offered by fuses.
The easiest and cheapest way to combine fuse holders and disconnectors is the fuse switch disconnector. With these devices, the melting fuse simultaneously takes over the function of the switching element. When removing the fuse carrier, which also contains the fuses, a visibly open isolating distance is created, which allows safe maintenance work. The melting fuses can be easily removed and replaced.
Fuse Switch Disconnectors That Deliver World Class Performance
IPD offers ABB’s OS fuse switches which have been designed to deliver world-class performance in even the most extreme conditions. OS fuse switches are reliable in extreme conditions and ensure safe maintenance and operation. When in the ON position, the interlocked fuse protection covers cannot be removed. When in the OFF position, the fuse link is fully isolated from both ends. Also, the handle is pad lockable with three separate padlocks for ensured safety.
OS switch fuses are ideal for demanding applications where continuity of operations is vital even in case of a fault. IPD offers ABBs Manually operated fuse switch disconnectors with current ratings from 125A to 1250A that fit the utilization category AC23. Overload and short-circuit protection are provided for downstream devices or loads by inserting LV HRC fuses, sizes 000 to 3 in DIN type front operated switch and fuses, sizes A2 to D1 is used in BS type front operated switch.
Both DIN and BS type fuse switches are available in 3 pole configurations. Its notable features include IP65 degree of protection, inclusive handle, and shaft, 3 padlocks in off position and door interlock in on position. It is compliant with IEC 60269-2 standards. Fuse switches have accessories such as fusible 4 pole, switched 4 pole, auxiliary contact blocks, pistol handles, direct mounted handles, shafts, and terminal shrouds.
