When accessing the Emerson RSTi-EP Web Interface through a web browser, you will require a username and password to be able to modify the configuration, reset the Network Interface Unit (NIU) or restore the factory settings.

This tip will show you how to reset the protection via the following procedure:

Step 1: Power off the NIU & Unplug all the IO modules
Step 2: Power on the NIU
Step 3: Make sure the RSTi-EP IP address can be pinged
Step 4: Open the browser and type the IP address of the NIU
Step 5: Once the communication module is displayed, click on it

Step 6: Click on the Change Login button. Now you should be able to assign a new Username/Password. Click on the “Change Login” button, and they will be assigned.

If the protection is not required, it can be disabled by clicking on ‘No Login Data’ (after assigning the new Username/Password, the “No Login Data” button will be enabled). Then, the login dialog won’t be displayed anymore. If the password protection should be enabled later, the previous procedure should be done.
