The Client
Westfield in Coomera is a Major Shopping project for Australia’s largest Shopping centre developer. Scentre Group and its joint partner and owner, QIC Global Real Estate, have built a new $470 million Westfield Coomera development on Queensland's Northern Gold Coast. The modern, brand-new development is only 500 metres from the Pacific Highway (M1) and right next to the Coomera train station, providing customers with a shopping experience and social destination in the heart of the thriving region.
The Scentre Group's Chief Operating Officer, Greg Miles, is confident that the development will benefit the public and become a hub for the local community, reflecting the Gold Coast's active and healthy lifestyle.
He announced that: “This is the first Westfield ‘greenfield’ development in more than a decade and will form part of the longer-term Coomera Town Centre project that will encompass a wide range of amenities for the local region.
When Westfield Coomera had the task of installing a switchboard with critical delivery milestones, they aimed to find the best solution provider on the market, and that is exactly the reason why they approached IPD Group.
How IPD Could Help with the Switchboard Delivery
IPD Group is an Australian company with a significant national footprint in the electrical industry and has been providing services for over 65 years.
“The long-term cooperation between Elsteel and IPD has resulted in much growth and development for both parties,” says Fang Logstrup, Managing Director of Elsteel.
Westfield Coomera approached IPD group with the goal of supplying Elsteel’s Techno Modular system.
Westfield Coomera had several key requirements for the delivery of the modular switchboards:
- It must meet AS/NZS 61439 standards
- Must meet tight deadlines
Why Elsteel's Techno Module Technology Was the First Choice?
Techno Module was chosen by IPD Group as the ideal solution for this application. The modular switchboards are critical infrastructure for Westfield Coomera. The patented modular construction, it being open to all circuit breaker brands and flexibility allows you to make changes to the board during and after construction.
“The flexibility of the Techno Module system and the large database of tested systems helped fulfill the project requirements. Elsteel’s Techno Module is considered to be one of the most tested systems in the world – and that is the view of leading switchboard manufacturers in Australia,” Brian Rodricks, IPD Business Manager.
IPD and the Elsteel team worked together to facilitate the supply of new switchboards at Westfield Coomera. All switchboards were built by an experienced panel builder who has been working with the Techno Module system.
Our goal is to consistently provide the highest quality solutions to our clients and assist them in paving the way for long-term business success. The Elsteel team is not afraid of a challenge and is always available to our clients. The Westfield Coomera is just one of many examples of our significant accomplishments by us, Elsteel’s Australian Distributor IPD Group, to meet the tight delivery schedule to allow the Switchboard Assembler to meet these tight deadlines.
