The Client
Jewel Gold Coast is one of the premier luxury developments on the Gold Coast of Australia. Located in Surfers Paradise, this iconic luxury hotel development features three massive towers with a total construction costing over 1B AUD.
Jewel Gold Coast includes a five-star hotel featuring 169 hotel suites. The development is also home to 510 luxury apartments and premium residences with one, two, or three bedrooms. Parking is never a problem here as Jewel also includes three levels of underground parking space with enough room to accommodate 812 cars.
When Jewel had the task of installing a switchboard in a challenging location, they aimed to find the best solution provider on the market, and that is exactly the reason why they approached IPD Group.
How IPD Could Help with the Switchboard Installation
IPD Group is an Australian company with a significant national footprint in the electrical industry and has been providing services for over 65 years.
“The long-term cooperation between Elsteel and IPD has resulted in much growth and development for both parties,” says Fang Logstrup, Managing Director of ELSTEEL.
Jewel Gold Coast contacted IPD Group with a goal to upgrade the facility’s existing switchboard systems.
Jewel had several key requirements for replacement of switchboards:
- It must meet AS/NZS 61439 standards
- It must be able to fit inside a very small switch room in a difficult location
Why ELSTEEL's Techno Module Technology Was the First Choice?
Techno Module was chosen by IPD Group as the ideal solution for this application. Prior to installation, the panel was built in smaller sections using a back-to-back arrangement. This allowed for easy transportation to the site and easy installation at the site’s small switch room.
“The flexibility of the Techno Module system and the large database of tested systems helped fulfil the project requirements. ELSTEEL’s Techno Module is considered to be one of the most tested systems in the world – and that is the view of leading switchboard manufacturers in Australia,” Brian Rodricks, IPD Business Manager.
IPD and the ELSTEEL team worked together to facilitate the supply and assembly of new switchboards at Jewel Gold Coast. All switchboards were built by Global Switchboards, an experienced panel builder who has been working with the Techno Module system for over 15 years.
Our goal is to consistently deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients and help them pave the way to continuous business prosperity. ELSTEEL’s team is not afraid of challenges and is always there for our clients. The Jewel project is just one of the many testaments of our dedicated contribution.
