Emerson provides a number of ways to check the firmware versions of the CPU and installed modules on the RX3i series, and can be performed by a visual or software firmware check. We have 5 options for you...
Option 1:
Based on the part number of hardware module, for example, “IC695CPU320-BC”, the last code of the part number “BC” identifies the original firmware version installed from the factory.
The module’s IPI (Important Product Information) will provide details on the original firmware installed along with previous versions. The IPI file is available on the GE Support site at: https://ge-ip.force.com/communities/CC_Home
This option does not take into account manual upgrades of the firmware, the recommended option to check the firmware version is via the Emerson Proficy Machine Edition (PME) software (refer below).
Option 2:
For PAC Systems, click on the Details button to receive more information about all the modules installed on the rack. See image below:
Option 3:
Connect PME to the PLC System and go online, and then using Online Commands and selecting Show Status, we can view the Firmware version of CPU.
Option 4:
Using PME 8.5 SIM11 or later version, when the operating mode is transferred from Offline to Online mode, a message will be logged in the feedback zone which indicates the Firmware Version of the CPU which has been connected.
Option 5:
Using PME 8.5 SIM11 or later version, “Check Firmware Versions” has been added under the Online Commands.
Using this selection, the Firmware Versions of all the modules installed on this rack can be displayed in the feedback zone.
