The low voltage limiter is designed to limit voltages up to a maximum of 120V. It is made up of a metal-oxide surge arrester without spark gaps and two thyristors connected in anti-parallel. The limiter can handle lightning current impulses of up to 25kA. It is suitable for use in DC traction systems, providing personal protection against touch voltages, as well as protecting equipment from overvoltage.
